The Heart Behind the Ruby Rose Recovery Room ❤️

When I first began dreaming up what would become the Ruby Rose Recovery Room, I knew I didn’t want it to be just another offering. I wanted it to reflect the heart of this studio, the people who make it what it is, and the deep belief I hold that recovery is not a luxury. It is essential.

On Valentine’s Day, it felt only fitting to dedicate this room to the TYB+PS instructors who give more than anyone will ever fully see.

To the ones who show up in the middle of their own storms and still create calm for others. To the ones who pour everything into each class. To the hours behind the scenes perfecting playlists, reworking choreography, practicing and refining so every client feels supported and seen.

Your commitment is the heartbeat of this studio.

Teaching is physical, yes, but it is also emotional and energetic. Our instructors give so much of themselves, and this space was created to give something back. During the quiet studio hours, the Ruby Rose Recovery Room belongs to our instructors, a space created for them to restore and be cared for in return, in honor of all they give to this studio and the community within it.

Why Recovery Is Personal for Me

My connection to recovery runs deeper than my role as a studio owner.

I am a six-year breast cancer survivor, and I also live with lupus. These experiences have shaped the way I listen to my body and the level of intention I bring to rest, healing, and support. Movement is a huge part of my life, but recovery is what allows me to continue doing what I love, week after week.

Red light therapy has been one of the most supportive tools in my own recovery routine. It has helped me feel more resilient, more restored, and more capable of showing up consistently. When you teach and move as much as I do, you learn quickly that pushing through without recovery is not sustainable. Care has to be built in.

That belief is what inspired this room.

A Space Created With Intention

The Ruby Rose Recovery Room was designed to feel calm, warm, and restorative the moment you step inside. From the red painted walls to the red light mats and PEMF mats, every detail was chosen with care. A soft cloud ceiling with tiny star lights glows overhead, paired with gentle ambient music that instantly quiets the outside world. This is not a rushed space. It is a place to slow down, reset, and truly support your body after movement.

The name itself holds meaning. Ruby Rose is my sweet little Maltese and a familiar, loved presence at the studio. Naming the room after her felt like a natural extension of the warmth and comfort she brings simply by being here. It felt right for a space rooted in love and restoration.

This vision would not have come to life without my amazing daughter, Heather. She has worked with me every step of the way to turn the idea into something real, and she continues to refine and improve our appointment process so the experience feels seamless and supportive from the very beginning. Her boyfriend, Christian, even jumped in to help paint the space, and seeing them both invest their time and energy into this room made it all the more meaningful.

More Than Movement

At TYB+PS, we believe how you feel after class matters just as much as the work you do during it. Strength, mobility, and challenge matter. So do recovery, rest, and nervous system support.

The Ruby Rose Recovery Room represents an expansion of that philosophy. It is a reminder that taking care of yourself is not something you earn. It is something you deserve.

I am incredibly proud to share this space with our TYB+PS community, and even more grateful for the instructors who inspired it.

With so much love and appreciation,
Sandi ❤️
